About

On a brisk morning this fall, full of sunshine and golden yellow leaves, I was midway through the daily morning gauntlet. I had just dropped off my daughters at school and was returning home to take my son to daycare and finish preparing for class. My friend greeted me, "Living the dream!" And I smiled with a nod. It was a short exchange, small talk between mothers, but it has resonated. I don't usually feel that I am living any sort of a dream, and I am not sure I remember what I dreamed for myself when I was young. I am pretty sure that I couldn't imagine middle age at all. But when I look from the outside in, I see that dream -- a loving husband, four beautiful children, and house in a great community, and a growing career. I am resurrecting this blog as a reminder to myself to be thankful for these beautiful gifts in my life, to muse about my mathematics, the teaching of mathematics, and the joys and challenges of family life. Welcome!
